HTC One Mini to be launched
Following on from the all-round success of the HTC One, the mobile company has announced a new version of the popular phone: the HTC One Mini. The new model will be both smaller and more affordable than the conventional One.
The new device, which boasts aluminium construction, will go on sale in August. It will hope to replicate the success of its big brother, which launched in March and has already sold units in 181 different countries.
The Mini boasts a good spec for its size, with features including a dual core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 series processor, an Ultra-Pixel camera, and full 1080p HD video recording. Standard features such as Wi-Fi, GPS, 4G compatibility and 16GB internal storage are also included. Some of the audio features that were included on the previous model, such as Beats Audio and HTC BlinkFeed, are still present.
Graham Wheeler, HTC director of commercialisation product management, said: “We wanted to extend the device family and our addressable market by launching the Mini and taking the key pillars that we talk about on the HTC One and put it together in a smaller package and a more value orientated price point. For a device that offers no compromise on experience, it really does offer a great value experience to the consumer.”
Although the handset itself is smaller, the Mini still possesses a quite substantial 4.3-inch screen, which is only 0.4 inches smaller than the one found on the original model.
