Network tests have revealed that EE is still top of the league table when it comes to service provision, with Three also winning some plaudits.

The tests revealed that EE was a clear winner in five of the six categories tested by RootMetrics. The latest report examined service and performance during the second half of 2015 and showed that the company was ahead when it came to network speed, calls, texts, mobile internet and overall performance.

The company has come out top in each round of tests since RootMetrics began monitoring the provision of mobile phone services four years ago. EE was named the best performing provider in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and it tied for top place with rival Three in Wales.

The European GM for RootMetrics, Scott Stonham, said that EE is still the best provider in the UK; however, its rivals are now making improvements to their services.

There is more to consider today when choosing a mobile phone provider; for example, some users might want better mobile broadband while others want to know that their network provides the most comprehensive coverage. The RootMetrics report can help people to make a decision on the best mobile provider, as it looks at services by geographical area.

The performance of rival O2 has improved for texts, internet speeds and calls, but overall it still ranked in last place. Vodafone picked up the second place for network speed and was in third place for overall performance.
