Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge go on sale
Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have finally gone on sale. The South Korean company announced it had received more pre-orders than it anticipated for its two flagship smartphones.
Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were the most eagerly awaited smartphones of 2016. In fact, many customers went ahead and ordered their devices early after Samsung unveiled them at the Mobile World Congress in February of this year. The early bird customers received their devices before the official launch, which took place in the UK as well as other markets, such as South Korea and the U.S.
After the official unveiling of the S7s, reviews suggested that Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are the best-ever smartphones from Samsung.
The S7 and S7 Edge are making waves among consumers for several reasons. The S7 comes with a 5.1-inch display, while the S7 Edge has a 5.5-inch curved display. It is anticipated that the two models will rejuvenate Samsung phone sales.
D. J. Koh, President of Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics, said that the company believes the world is “brighter, sharper, more convenient, and more fun.”
“We strive to deliver on that vision with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge by marrying elegant design with functionality and providing a seamless mobile experience. We empower consumers with technology to help them get more out of life and will continue to push the frontier of what’s possible,” explained Mr. Koh.
Both Samsung S7 and S7 Edge have received an upgrade. They come with the IP67 rating, which makes them resistant to dust and water-resistant up to 1.5 metres. However, users need to be careful with the phones around hot water, as the waterproof seals of the phones can be compromised with repeated exposure.
The two phones are quite fast in the UK, thanks to the Exynos 8890 chipset. This chipset is nearly as fast as the Snapdragon 820 that the S7s have in other markets. Also, both come equipped with 4GB RAM and internal water cooling. These unique features keep the phones operating smoothly.
The battery life of the phones is also quite impressive. The S7 comes with a 3000mAh battery, while the S7 Edge has a 3600mAh battery. This means that the S7 Edge has a bigger battery than that of the iPhone 6S. Reviews from technology experts show that both Samsung phone batteries can last an entire day, even with heavy use.
When the Samsung S6 was unveiled, many customers felt that it was missing features, so Samsung went ahead and included a few of those features in the S7s. Both devices have expandable memory, as they have a micro-SD card slot, which adds 200 GB to the memory. The S7s also have the first-ever Dual Pixel camera. Samsung contends that the camera can click brighter and sharper images even in low-light conditions.
The Samsung S7 and S7 Edge come with the all-new “always-on” ambient display. This feature shows just those pixels that are required to display a specific notification located at the top of the phone screen. This energy-saving display feature contributes to longer battery life.
