Apple-announces-the-new-iPhone-SE

Apple has announced the launch of the new iPhone SE, a 4-inch handset, alongside a new Apple Watch and an updated version of the iPad Pro.

The iPhone SE is said to be the most powerful 4-inch phone ever. It has been designed to resemble the iPhone 5s, but it has been given the operating power of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. It will be available in four colour options, including the new rose gold. This handset has the distinction of being the cheapest iPhone produced so far and will be available for pre-order on 24th March, with sales starting on 31st March and prices starting from £359.

The new iPad Pro is a smaller version than the company launched last year in September, measuring 9.7 inches compared to 12.9 inches for the older version. The display is pressure-sensitive, and the unit comes complete with four speakers located at the corners. An Apple Pencil is also included with the unit. This iPad will also be available in rose gold – the first of its kind to be offered in the shade. The cost of the new iPad Pro will be from £499 and, as with the new iPhone SE, the unit will go on pre-order on 24th March, becoming available for sale a week later.

The launch of the new products was announced at a San Francisco press conference where company boss Tim Cook told attendees that there are now around one billion Apple devices in use around the world. The conference also revealed that the cost of the Apple Watch is set to drop to £259 in the UK.
