iPhone 7 set to be unveiled on 7 September
Apple has announced that its annual product launch will be held this year on 7 September.
It is expected that the new iPhone 7 will be unveiled to the world at this event along with the 7 Plus. It is possible that new versions or updated versions of the Apple Watch are also going to be revealed.
The invitation to the event features the familiar Apple logo, albeit blurry, made up of a range of multi-coloured dots. Usually, fans of the brand search the invites for clues about the new handsets, but this invitation does not seem to be giving much away.
It is believed that the new handsets will be very similar-looking to the current handsets, although they will feature larger cameras that are more powerful. It is thought that the 5.5-inch version of the handset will have a dual-lens camera. There are also rumours that there will not be a headphone jack on the new handset and that there will be a pressure-sensitive home button rather than the familiar physical button.
The event will be held at 10am Pacific Time on 7 September at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. A new iPhone has been unveiled every September, although this year, there was also the launch of the iPhone SE in March. Rumours suggest that once the launch has taken place, the planned retail date is 23 September, but some believe that sales could actually begin the week before. At the present time, it is not known how much the new handsets are going to cost.
