Samsung unveils “New Era of Mobile AI’ with Galaxy S24 smartphone series
Set to go on sale in the UK this week, the Samsung Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra may look familiar at first glance but pack a host of new tech and features under the hood.
Artificial intelligence is powering most of them; the ‘Pro Visual Engine’ will “maximise creative freedom” with its image-capturing and editing tools, while ‘Knox’ will deliver real-time threat detection and advanced security.
The S24 Ultra is Samsung’s most premium flagship device once again.
Powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, it houses a 6.8-inch QHD 120Hz display with four cameras, including two telephoto lenses.
The most affordable of the bunch is the S24, with its 6.2-inch FHD+ 120HZ display and triple camera system.
The S24 Plus improves on the base model by adding a larger 6.7-inch QHD+ ready display and a 4,900 mAh battery.
Every model will also deliver 2,600 nits of peak brightness, making the screens readable even in the brightest sunlight.
While the raw specs are impressive, Samsung is focusing on its AI capabilities this year.
It says the high-end Snapdragon processors will deliver the “most intelligent experience ever”.
S24 series users will be able to tap into exciting new features in Google, including “Circle to Search”, which works on social media and across the web.
Samsung has also made significant improvements to Live Translate and Interpreter and launched AI-driven Chat Assist, Note Assist and Transcript Assist features.
The S24, S24 Plus and S24 Ultra will retail from £799, £999 and £1,249 respectively.
Pre-orders are now open ahead of a launch date on 31st January.
